Why This Course Matters Right Now
Every two years, the Texas Legislature passes laws that change how social workers practice, document, and protect their clients, and the Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) follows with rule changes that put those laws into action. Keeping up is hard. Bill language is dense, effective dates vary, and the details that matter most to your daily practice are often buried. This course translates the outcomes of the 2027 legislative session(s) and recent BHEC social work rule changes into plain language and practical next steps. We will cover what changed, when it takes effect, and what it means for your work with clients. You will leave knowing how to stay compliant, recognize the ethical questions new laws raise, and keep up with future changes. Open to all Texas social workers (LBSWs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and those in supervisory or administrative roles) across clinical, macro, school, medical, and community settings.
Stay informed and compliant.
