Crisis Is No Longer the Exception
Social workers today are supporting clients through natural disasters, community violence, suicide loss, and ongoing instability, often while living through the same events themselves. Supervisees are entering the field with heavy caseloads and limited crisis training, and burnout and secondary traumatic stress are taking a real toll on the workforce. Supervisors sit at the center of all of it. When you know how to lead through trauma and crisis, you protect your supervisees, safeguard clients, and help keep good clinicians in the profession.
